Planning and Quality Control Division
The Department of Transportation is responsible for the maintenance and rehabilitation of the Street right of ways within the corporate limits of the City. The planning and quality control division of the Department administers several contracts for performing work city-wide as well providing inspection and surveying duties in support of these contracts as well as the regular maintenance activities of the Department. In addition to these duties this division also ensures that all departmental projects meet state and federal guidelines for Traffic Congestion Management, Environmental Regulation compliance and the ADA (American with Disabilities Act).
Within the Planning and Quality Control Division several sections exist with their own responsibilities:

Street Resurfacing Program:
- This section administers the ongoing street resurfacing operations of the City. These operations vary in size from year to year. This project also makes geometric changes to the street network to improve pedestrian and vehicle movements. Resurfacing projects are coordinated with TxDOT (Texas Department of Transportation), local utilities and the MPO (Metropolitan Planning Organization). Read more...
