Scheduling a pick-up/drop-off with the LIFT

When making your requests for transportation, please follow these procedures to smooth the scheduling process and reduce the amount of time spent scheduling your trip:

  • LIFT identification number
  • Address of pick-up location
  • Address of drop-off location
  • Requested drop-off time and alternate drop-off times
  • The name of the personal care attendant accompanying you, if one is joining you

You may call from 24 hours to 7 days ahead of when you will need the LIFT. Trips can be scheduled by calling (915) 544-2514 from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday; and 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. weekends and holidays.

When calling for a trip request, you will be notified at that moment whether or not your requested trip can be scheduled.

Trip requests made less than 24 hours in advance will be scheduled if space and time are available in the schedule for that day.

When you are scheduled, write down the approximate pick-up return times. The scheduling of additional passengers into available routes may require adjusting schedules. If a passenger’s pick-up time is adjusted more than 15 minutes either way, a scheduler from the LIFT office will attempt to notify you of the change. It is a good idea to call the evening before a scheduled trip to confirm the pick-up times.

Once you have been told that you are a subscription passenger (on a permanent schedule), it is not necessary for you to continue to make your requests for repetitive trips. Subscription service will not exceed 50 percent of the LIFT’s ridership at any given hour.

Because drivers do not carry change, the exact fare is required. Prepaid fare tickets are available at a Sun Metro ticket office <link> or by mail. Monthly passes are no longer sold.

If you call to change a previously scheduled trip, please note that this will be considered as a new trip request and transportation may not be available. When calling to cancel a previously scheduled trip, please call the LIFT cancellation line at 533-9335. You will hear a message asking you to give the appropriate cancellation information so that it can be recorded.
