Welcome to the Records Division Page.

The Records Division of the El Paso Police Department consists of skilled civilians and supervisors who collect, process and maintain crime records, other information and provide photographic service to the Department and external customers.
Our customers include the public, the courts, and other government agencies in partnerships for providing services to our community.  We are implementing a new generation of optical imaging for storing documents, and improved electronic systems for processing police data/information.
Records can be reached at 915-564-7200 from 6:00 am to 12 midnight, seven days a week.

How to file a report:

You may file a police report using one of these methods:

  • File non-emergency reports on the telephone
If you don’t need an officer dispatched to your location, please call the Telephone Reporting Unit at (915) 832-4436 during the hours of 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., Monday thru Friday to make a Non-emergency incident or accident report.
Reports that contain evidence will not be taken on the telephone.
  • Call 911 for Emergencies
If you need to have a police officer dispatched to your location immediately, if some one is injured, or if you have any emergency situation, call “911". This includes any “crime still in progress”or where the report you want to make has any type of “evidence” to be collected.
  • File non-emergency reports using the Internet
You may file a police report On-line for selected offenses (listed below) on this web site or by using the link:
http://www.elpasotexas.gov/police/default.asp, click on Online Reports, then click Crime Reporting.  You will need a valid return e-mail address to make an on-line report. A police officer will NOT be dispatched to your location. Reports that include “evidence” will not be processed on-line.
Once an On-Line Report is received in our designated e-mail box, a Records Specialist will notify the reporting party by e-mail and give the case number assigned for the report within 24 to 72 hours, depending on the volume of requests received.
